International Research Roundtable at César Ritz Colleges

The Brig campus of César Ritz Colleges Switzerland has become the place to share insights about founding and managing hospitality, tourism, and service organizations! The biannual International Research Roundtable (IRR) hosts vibrant guest speakers who present peer-reviewed original research papers, translational research with managerial recommendations, research proposals, as well as practitioner case studies. This scholarly community of authors and reviewers from various universities across several countries come together in Brig to explore powerful themes such as leading in dynamic settings, strategy and innovation for better service, and operational sustainability. 

Dr. Marianna Sigala of Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield UK, is just one of many remarkable speakers who ignite interest in new ideas about business-ready teaching methods by putting a spotlight on the value of practical case studies through student-led research. Animated discussion panels debate the future of work in hospitality, tourism, and service organizations, and how new technology may impact future competencies.

At a recent roundtable meeting, Dr. Giuseppina Menconi, Associate Professor at César Ritz Colleges, led a spirited discussion of how hospitality, tourism, and service managers can make the best use of the metaverse. These managerial recommendations extended the line of thinking that she and César Ritz Colleges Associate Professor Dr. Apostolos Ampountolas developed in collaboration with Professor Gareth Shaw from the University of Exeter, UK, in a top journal, “Tourism Economics”.
